For some reason, Avery has decided to get up before the crack of dawn. She is FINALLY sleeping through the night on a consistent basis, but is getting up between 5-6 am. Some mornings Bailey joins her. Yuck. I've tried putting her to bed later, but that usually turns into her waking up even earlier. By mid morning, this is how she feels:
Yes Avery, that's pretty much how I feel too.
Bailey wanted in on the picture taking fun...
And here is Avery after I comment on her very grouchy face:
What a silly baby! Please, please, please start sleeping in!!

try putting her to bed earlier. Sounds crazy, and you have to give it at least a week or 10 days to see if its working, but its worked for us. Theory is that getting enough sleep makes it easier for kids to fall asleep, stay asleep and return to sleep when they wake up in the middle of the night or too early in the morning. And if they don't get enough sleep, all of those things are harder, which results in less sleep. I've got a great sleep book if you want to borrow it. Here's hoping for more sleep at your house!
By the way, love her grouchy face! :)
I hate that too, it seems no matter what you do they like to wake up early sometimes. Hopefully, just a phase. If my kids get up that early I tell them to go back to bed, or I have to go rock with them. But we don't turn the lights on or play. usually it would only last 2 days of waking up THAT early.
Sorry...that stinks. Sophia sometimes still wakes up at 7.00am and I've started to make it a point to simply not get her for at least 30 more minutes (so she basically gets 12 full hours of rest/sleep). She's usually fine, and just talks or sings. But, lately there hasn't been a need for that either.
Anyway, oddly when I looked at Avery's grouchy face, I felt like Mike was staring right at me. Arghh... so funny. I'm so excited to see you guys soon! Sophia is still talking about you guys. Just a few days ago she asked me to draw Bailey's foot. Weird, but...that's what she wanted.
I'm still laughing at the bangs. I'd be scared to do it, too. But I do have pretty good scissors, hoping that would help. kids don't sit still well anyway, how terrible is that? the questions she asked after are hilarious! Kids are so funny. Don't feel bad, it will grow back. Every mom has done it at some point, I'm sure. and the sleeping thing must be terrible. Jada is just a good sleeper, which is so nice! I agree that going to bed earlier helps. If we keep Jada up late she still gets up the same time, sometimes earlier, I think from being overtired at bedtime. so we put her down around 8:30, then she sleeps til' 10 or so. I know, we are spoiled. but if she got up at 6 or heaven forbid 5, I would be so mad. I'd probably check her to be sure she didn't pee all over, otherwise make her have time in her crib while we slept. that's the beauty of a really soundproof house and fans! Good luck!
Laura is my cousin...remember? You guys were headed off to texas and at last minute you switched to Ohio. You didn't have a place to live or know anything about it. My cousin's husband, ben, was at medical school there so I got you their number... they were the ones that got you living in golf point (or whatever the name was).
AND when you were moving to syracuse I told you about the Thornock's already there - I think they helped you too. So basically I should be your realator :)
